- Ford India sold 11,714 vehicles in May in combined domestic wholesales and exports
- Ford Figo Aspire being showcased to customers across 25-cities as part of pan-India roadshows ahead of its launch later this year

New Delhi, India, June 01, 2015 – Ford India sold 11,714 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports in May, compared to 12,288 vehicles in the corresponding month last year.
May domestic wholesales stood at 4,726 vehicles against 6,053 units in the same month last year, while exports grew to 6,988 vehicles compared to 6,235 units in May 2014.
During the month, Ford commenced 10-week long roadshow to showcase its new compact sedan Figo Aspire at 40-locations in 25 cities across India. Customers visiting these roadshows get a first-hand experience of the car and a sneak peek into features that make the Figo Aspire deliver more than they expect from compact sedans.
“We are really excited and encouraged to see the customer response to Figo Aspire during roadshows,” said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India. “Figo Aspire embodies the aspirations of modern India with its striking good looks, clever convenience and smart technology. This sedan is designed to exceed expectations of customers in every way as it gears for a public introduction in a couple of months.”
The roadshows are a part of Ford India’s recently announced experiential consumer campaign – What Drives You – that aims to discover the values and aspirations driving modern India. Led by versatile actor, singer and ace director Farhan Akhtar, the campaign culminate with one-lucky winner becoming the first customer to drive home a brand-new Ford Figo Aspire.
The new Figo Aspire is set to unleash a new standard for compact cars in India with an elegant, striking design that sets it apart from competitors. The sophisticated exterior of the Figo Aspire is complemented by a modern interior that delivers an extraordinary experience for a compact car.
Reflecting the importance of safety to consumers in the compact segment, the new Figo Aspire also offers an unprecedented number of safety features. For the first time in a compact sedan in India, the Figo Aspire offers side and curtain airbags for an extra level of protection.
