Ford India Sales Reached 27,580 Vehicles in March

  • Domestic wholesales in the month of March grew to 9,016 while export recorded 18,564 vehicles
  • Strengthening strategic collaboration with Mahindra, Ford signed five MoUs to co-develop mid-size and compact SUV, electric vehicle and connected car solutions
  • Expanded the model line-up of Ford EcoSport with the addition of a new top-of-the-line petrol manual variant

 

NEW DELHI, India, April 2, 2018 – Ford India’s combined domestic wholesales and exports in March recorded 27,580 vehicles from 24,832 vehicles in the same month last year.

The company’s domestic wholesales stood at 9,016 vehicles in March, up from 8,700 vehiclesin the same month last year. Exports in the past month grew to 18,564 vehicles from 16,132 vehicles in March 2017.

In the first quarter of 2018, the combined domestic wholesale and exports grow to 74,080 vehicles compared to 63,117 in the first quarter of 2017.

“Listening to our customers and bringing what they want and value is core to whatever we do in India and is getting reflected in our continued sales growth,” said Anurag Mehrotra, president and managing director, Ford India. “Be it partnership with Mahindra or the upcoming launch of our compact utility vehicle - Ford Freestyle, we are committed to offering the best vehicles,technologies and services that fit the lifestyles of Indian consumers.”

In March, Mahindra and Ford signed five new memoranda of understanding (MoU), under which, both the companies will co-develop a mid-size sports utility vehicle, evaluate developing a compact SUV, electric vehicle and a suite of car solutions for consumers.

Close on the heels of Ford EcoSport success; Ford is also gearing to launch its first compact utility vehicle (CUV), Ford FreeStyle. The all-new Freestyle will position Ford to address growingconsumers demand SUV-like vehicles. India will be amongst the first across the globe wherethe all-new Freestyle will go on sale in the April 2018.

Attentive to customer feedback, Ford also expanded the model line-up of its compact SUV, FordEcoSport with the introduction of a new top-of-the-line Titanium+ petrol variant. Priced at INR10.47 lakh (ex-showroom across India), the new Titanium+ variant is paired with Ford’s latest three-cylinder 1.5L Ti-VCT petrol engine and feature five-speed manual transmission.

In March, Ford continued to strengthened it pan- India footprint with the inauguration of Novelty Ford, a new Sales, Service and Spares (3S) facility in Amritsar, offering the most compelling value-for-money product and after-sales experience.
