The Ford Figo has received a mid-life makeover with new petrol engines and a new automatic gearbox along with design upgrades and host of new features. We head to Jodhpur the blue-city of Rajasthan to test drive the new top-of-the-line Ford Figo Titanium Blu!
The refreshed Ford Figo comes in at a starting price of Rs 5.15 lakh (ex-showroom) and Ford says over 1,200 components have been replaced over the outgoing model. When it comes to the cosmetics, we can count the changes on one hand, with the new grille and bumpers taking centre stage.
The most important change in the new 2019 Ford Figo is the inclusion of the 1.2 Litre Dragon series petrol engine. This engine develops 96PS of power making it the most powerful petrol car in its segment with the exception of the Tata JTP models.
The slew of changes, big and small, ensure that the Figo remains one of the best driver’s car in the segment. The revised pricing along with the stellar aftersales packages also means that peace of mind is guaranteed with every purchase. The Figo is a great all-rounder and one you should check at a dealer near you.
For all of those who love driving. More planted at high speeds than most of its rivals. Give a round of applause to the grand-daddy of hatchbacks –Ford Figo!
The comparatively heavier Figo feels more solid and, in turn, a safer car to be in. It’s also more efficient than before promising to return 20.4 km/l under test conditions.
The Ford Figo facelift brings with it more features, more power and it all comes in at a lower price. It packs new 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre (and a six-speed auto) petrol three-cylinder engines, new grille and bumpers, and a seven-inch touchscreen.
The Ford Figo finally gets a set of cool features. Having bowed down to peer pressure, it gets automatic everything and a touch screen. But is it still an enthusiasts delight? Rohan finds out.
The Ford Figo facelift brings with it more features, more power and it all comes in at a lower price. It packs new 1.2L & 1.5L (and a six-speed auto) petrol 3-cyl engines, new grille and bumpers, and a 7" touchscreen.
The New Ford Figo is designed to perfectly fit in your smart world. Its energetic design and powerful engine are always ready to fuel your fast-paced lifestyle. Its smart technology and safety features add fun and ease to every journey.
The 2019 Ford Figo Facelift has been launched in India at a price of Rs.5.23 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The mid lifecycle facelift sees the Figo looking sharper and getting more features.
The new petrol engine (and the accompanying gearbox) does its best work in this hatchback, where you’ll be more inclined to wring it out and get the best out of it. The diesel, as ever, is an absolute gem.
Here is the most detailed review of the 2019 Ford Figo facelift, I tell you everything about the design, interior, features, performance, ride, handling, braking, steering, price and of course give you a verdict on whether you should buy the 2019 Ford Figo facelift in India.
Ford first launched the Freestyle crossover, then the Aspire facelift, so we kind of knew what to expect with the third member of the family, right? Well, not quite, as Gavin D'Souza found out on a drive in Jodhpur.
The Figo 1.5 TDCi Sports is powered by Ford’s proven 1.5 l four-cylinder turbodiesel, which produces 99 hp at 3,750 rpm and 215 Nm of torque at 1,750-3,000 rpm.
In the new S or Sports version, the premium hatchback gets a stiffer suspension setup owing to shorter coil springs, slightly lower ground clearance over the standard model and a larger 15-inch alloy wheel with wider 195/55 section tyres ( the stock version has 175/65 section)
The Figo has always been a smart hatchback from the Ford India stable. Now with the sports edition, it’s not only got a lot sportier in its appearance but is a lot more fun to drive.
To put it into context, the added premium of the Sport variant which isn't just limited to the cosmetic changes of a side skirt or a bumper lip, but, extends to enhancing the performance makes it a value-for-money proposition. So, the Ford Figo S diesel is definitely worth the extra moolah.
If you're looking for a quick hatchback, that can go around a corner without any issues, and you are not looking to hot hatch money, then the Ford Figo Sports Edition may just be the car for you.
The changes on the Figo Sports Edition are mainly to the interiors and exteriors while the suspension changes have made the car more fun. We have always stated that the Figo is a fun to drive car offered as a value for money proposition and there is no denying to this fact. But, the Sports Edition loses out on some features that are offered in the regular Figo in the Titanium Plus.
Forget the styling which does transform the looks of the Figo, look at the package as a whole and the Figo Sports is now easily the best drivers car below Rs 10 lakh, with this diesel. It drives much better and the changes have made the driver explore its capabilities and the punchy diesel motor. We always liked the Figo diesel however now we love the Figo Sports
If you are looking for more features then Titanium + should be your pick but if you want a car that’s good for daily commute and drives well too then you should pick Figo Sports, easily the most fun to drive car in its budget.
The diesel we drove felt very stable at high speeds, handled fast sweepers with poise and ride quality improves with pace. What’s still its USP is being great value for money, even with a Rs 50,000 increase in price over the regular Figo. There’s more sport in the Figo now.
The Figo is a car we have called segment-best on a number of occasions - and yes that is truer of the Aspire. The Sports variant gives you even better handling and makes the car an even more compelling buy. Well built, safe, sporty and good value - that's how we see the offerings. What is sad is the lack of that extra kit mentioned earlier, and the missing Sports edition on the 1.5-litre petrol with its dual-clutch automatic transmission
The Rs 50,000 bump-up in price is worth the additional features and, especially, the richer driving experience. The Figo Sports Edition has shed the overly commuter-oriented setup for a more balanced experience that brings the Ford Magic back to the masses, thank God.
With the Figo Sports Edition, Ford gives driving enthusiasts the tool they desire. The difference, regarding character, between the normal Figo and this car, might not be as drastic as that between the Fiesta and Fiesta S, but it still is a rare mass market car that carries off its ‘Sports Edition’ suffix with aplomb.
Let’s face it, the traffic situation isn’t going to get any better. Yes, there’ll be new towns, better infrastructure, better roads - the lot. What isn’t going to change however, is that traffic snarl at your most hated junction on your way back home.
The Ford Figo needs no introduction. Launched way back in 2010, the last gen Figo is based on the Mark V Fiesta hatchback platform and has been tailor-made to cater to developing markets like that of India.
Ford has launched the second generation Figo hatchback, which promises to be packed with equipment, safety features and looks a lot better than before. However, the compact car market has undergone a complete change in the recent past. Can the all-new Ford Figo carve a niche and recreate history like it did when it was launched six years ago?
The Ford Figo needs no introduction. Launched way back in 2010, the last gen Figo is based on the Mark V Fiesta hatchback platform and has been tailor-made to cater to developing markets like that of India.
It has an all-new design, features and, three completely new powertrains. With several class-leading features at a very competitive price, the new-generation Figo is here to challenge two of the best hatchbacks in the country - Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10.
Ford made its mark in India with the Figo way back in 2010. The Ford Figo single-handedly changed fortunes for the American carmaker in India. With the Figo, Ford India shifted its stance from being a passive carmaker and became an aggressive player in India.
The Figo used to be a best-seller for Ford at one point of time, selling over 6000-7000 units per month on a regular basis. As time passed by though, rivals edged passed and of late, for more than a year, sales figures have dropped to under 1,500 a month.
The Figo is surely one of the most successful cars, Ford ever launched in India. Its diesel version came at the time when our market was leaning towards diesel cars and it offered utmost value for money.
It takes a lot to establish a brand in the market and the most important factor for that is having the right product at the right price. One such car that stood for this value was the Ford Figo, when launched in 2010.
Like with the sedan, Ford has spared no effort in making the Figo as good as it can be. It’s spacious, well equipped, has strong engines and is quite nice to look at. Ford seems to have nailed it with the pricing too and this definitely puts the Figo in a good stead.
We’re driving the all-new Ford Figo hatchback in and around Agra today. Launched yesterday with prices starting from INR 4.29 lakhs, the new Figo is Ford India’s refreshed B-segment offering that replaces its predecessor, which has been retired after 6 years and 3,00,000 units of noble service.
Ford’s new second generation Figo is here and is now more competitive than ever before. We went for a drive to see if it can build on its successful predecessor’s credentials
We’ve seen manufacturers making hatchbacks and then sub-4m sedans around them. However of late, the trend seems to have changed. It started with Tata Motors first offering the Zest sedan and then the Bolt hatchback. Now Ford has followed it up with the Figo Aspire and now the Figo hatch. While we were pretty impressed with the sedan and it even won our compact sedan comparo, will the hatchback be equally impressive given that it is identical save for a couple of litres of boot volume less? We find out.
The B-segment has long been a bastion for various two-pedal options with Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai pushing AMT’s while Datsun and Renault have been big on CVTs. Now Ford is making a return with its own two-pedal option for the Figo ditching the 1.5-litre petrol DCT drivetrain for a 1.2-litre petrol torque converter option. Does it have what it takes to take the fight to the competition? Venkat finds out.
In a bid to remain relevant in the hatchback segment, Ford has launched the Figo automatic at ₹7.75 lakh. The top-of-the-line Titanium+ automatic will set you back by ₹8.20 Lakh. The Figo automatic will be offered with a petrol engine only and will miss out on a diesel option. The Figo automatic comes with a naturally aspirated 1.2 litre 3-cylinder engine which produces 96hp and 119nm of torque. The automatic gearbox will be carried over from the Ecosport which is a 6-speed torque converter unit. In this video, we focus on the torque converter unit, its performance, shifts and mileage.
A 6-speed torque converter at this price? Yes says Ford. Meet the Figo A/T that offers a superior gearbox that most of its rivals. So is this mid-size hatchback good enough? Prices start at Rs 7.74 lakh - Is this the best automatic hatchback under 8 lakh?
The Figo 1.2 petrol Automatic is finally here and though it's quite late to the party, it comes with a proper torque convertor automatic gearbox which gives it an edge over its AMT rivals. It promises to the smoother and quicker, and we tell you how perceptible that difference is.
Since April 2020 when Ford discontinued the 1.5-litre petrol automatic variants, the Figo has been the only mid-size hatchback alongside its stablemate, the Freestyle, to miss out on an automatic gearbox. This has resulted in potential buyers looking at other brands, causing a drop in the Figo’s popularity. Thankfully, Ford has now reintroduced the automatic option for the Figo but with the 1.2-litre engine, again making it the only model to get a proper automatic in the segment. So, does the automatic still offer the ease of driving in the city and better driving convenience as before or should you stick to the manual? Let’s find out.
Ford Figo Automatic has been launched in India. It may be interesting to note that the car was initially expected to be launched here last year, but we guess the coronavirus pandemic and all the other issues arising from it compelled the company to put the plans on hold. But finally, the car is here which is set to rival cars such as Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, etc. Anyway, if you are considering buying this car, then this video review is for you where Kranti Sambhav will be talking about its new features, specs and most importantly its drive.
Ford has finally launched an automatic version of the Figo hatchback. This car is powered by a 1.2-litre, 95bhp petrol engine. The automatic is borrowed from the Ecosport petrol automatic that gets a six-speed torque convertor. Here is my in-depth review in English.
Here is the most detailed review of the 2021 Ford Figo Automatic I tell you everything about the design, interior, features, performance, ride, handling, braking, steering, price, and of course give you a verdict on whether you should buy a Ford Figo AT in India. This 2021 Ford Figo Automatic review is a long drive one with a real-world perspective of the petrol automatic hatchback from Ford.
It's a surprise you don't see too many of these new Ford Figos out on the road. It's got one of the more compelling safety and warranty packages in its segment and quite a potent petrol engine to go with it in this case. Along with, of course, the typically agile Ford dynamic ability. So will the addition of a petrol automatic version turn things around for the small Ford hatchback? The Figo was available with a DCT gearbox with the earlier 1.5-litre petrol up until the BSVI switchover. But with that combination not attracting the compact-car tax breaks, Ford India has now fitted this different gearbox to the 1.2-litre petrol engine that is likely to be more popular among buyers in the current scenario.
This top-end variant of the Figo comes with 15-inch rims shod with some tasty 195/55 section tyres and shorter-than-standard springs, which improve its handling capabilities.
The Ford Figo is a great all rounder and comes with a powerful 1.5-Litre diesel engine with 100bhp engine. It is a great driver's car and comes with solid build quality as well. Here is my video review.
They're compact but fun, funky yet practical, not very pricey and economical-to-run. This is essentially what comes to one's mind when one speaks about a hatchback.
With the updated Figo, launched a couple of months ago, Ford has made an already good car, better. It not only gets design changes inside and out, but also has more powerful and fuel-efficient engines, and an all-new Titanium Blu variant.
